Now to the aircon 300Tdi

Chaps n lasses i have done most things on the car, anything that moves changed, lubricated or covered in waxoyle, sorted leaky alpines, rusty floors and dodgy locking, sorted woefull consumption and cleaned the bejesus out of her, last thing i hope is the aircon, now i have a motor in the rear that works and blows cool air! the belt is not on the one in the engine bay never was when i bought it, the actual compressor has two wires coming out of the top but these seem to have been severed at about the fly wheel so i cannot even test if its working the actual wheel turns smoothly enough there is also a circulation button on the dash but this doesnt work or at least the light doesnt come on and the aircon button doesnt light up, gone through haynes and no mention at all, anyone done any stripping of these at all or any experts on here for advice. it'd be nice to have it for the 5 day summer this year, and im in stripping down mood tommorow. Started stripping down to get at wires i got the "base plate off 10mm bolt but the flywheel doesnt come off at all is there a circlip or owt holding it in place? even with a big help me bar its not bugding, i,m thinking reconnect wires and it should work the aircon light DOES NOW COME ON.
any help would be great.
