Yesterday we picked up a touring caravan as we are getting too old for Glamping. We had been booked into a caravan towing course a couple of weeks ago as while we have dragged a trailer around for a while (these camp beds and memory foam matresses need a lot of space even vacuum packed) but we only ever had to worry about not seeing the trailer when going in a straight line. Sadly, Covid stuck it's nose in and the course was cancelled so we arrive with a knowledge gap and more than a little trepidation.
Given a full walk round of the van including using the motor mover and the moment comes to hitch up and get out on the highway - said highway being a small country road with a couple of miles to travel to get to the motorway. Just to add a little spice, there were some roadworks between us and the motorway including a re-building of the motorway junction, what could go wrong?
Turns out my wife is a better passenger when I am dragging a caravan and only whimpers gently as HGVs go past in the other direction instead of pushing the passenger side brake pedal through the floor. Two hours and about a hundred mile later we arrive at the storage site and unhitch and she said the words which made my day...

'that was not as bad as I expected' - I am a towing God
