Hi, currently driving a 306 HDI, 5 dr, LX, 95k, silver blah blah blah. Getting bored of been looked at like a "boy racer" an looking for a bigger car as my family will be getting the biggest addition yet (little baby girl) around april time. So only way seems to be a 4 x 4, which as we all know means landrover, particularly discovery. Joined up here to learn abit about these (particularly TD5) before I throw some hard earned cash on one, to avoid buying a lemon! Thanks in advance for any help guys.

Been looking for the past few weeks and getting a rough idea of how much im looking at spending. Seen a few things to look out for but open to any info of what to look out for.

can't think of much than the usual make sure things work
Sunroofs prone to leak
can't think of anything else of the top of head
If you go to the Discovery section there's loads of bits in there

buy one with good service history, had my td5 2 years and replaced fuel pressure regulater, and oil cooler pipe from gearbox (Auto), sealed both sunroofs, drivers doors and rear door lock replaced, all known problems, wouldn't drive anything else now. :welcome2:

Fingers crossed, I wont have too many problems. Seen the guide on the lock system an doesnt look hard, the pressure regulator on the other hand seems a bitch of a job. Any one tell me a rough price bracket for a td5 discovery2 2000-2002, good bodywork and good service history. Seen a large range in my searches (£1800-£8000) an want abit of clarification if possible?
