Wont be able to mke the whole weekend unfortunately due to a family thing on the saturday. However I will be able to do the Sunday.

Where will you all be sunday morning?

sundays meeting up point will from either of the two places the weekenders will be stopping at. as i,m waiting for definate body count can people let me know how many are coming in your vehicles by putting numbers next to your names. ta (or pm me)

hey up dave

have you been up to the lane recently to check out the deal?

gotta say im not sure if taking vehicles down it on mass, especially starting from opposite ends, is wise

we already know how tricky it is to turn round up there, nevermind finding a passing place for 5 cars

it looks like the track clears over the hill, i think where we found the fallen tree last time we were pretty much out of the woods by that point so maybe after there things will be easier, but i wouldnt fancy 10 motors in the woods facing opposite directions!

cheers, sam

I know I've not met any of you yet but if someone can pm me the UID no or give me a rough location and I'm sure I'll figure it out from trailwise. I'll walk the lane next weekend and have a look to see if it's feasable to get cars to pass and how much Work is involved.

Failing that there's four people coming in three cars from my lot so we could pile in one car just to clear the pyg track.

i,ve been up today, there,s 4 more tree's down in the wooded section, plus one on the stream section. clear'd the stream section today
the plan was at the meet and greet to decide which would be the best vehicles to take first of all. plenty of parking at each end if needed with refreshment tent and pig roast. then use kids (if any going) mountain bikes to ferry in tea, cake and what ever. was never planning on taking 10 vehicles in. just 1 from each end at first plus 1 back up vehicle for any of those trouser moments. saturday is planned to the minute detail covering any situation

thanks mr mayze i,ll pm u and meet up

right by my count thats going to be 10 for over nighting so i,m going to get the cottage booked this week i'll pm each of u the details over the week. (great prefer'd the cottage as at the end of the track theres a axle wrecker boulder climb for any one feeling brave enough) any one else wishing to come after end of this week is welcome but they will have to bring caravan or tent as there's room in the grounds or sleeping bag in the cottages dining/living room. pets are allowed as well

Nice one Dave sounds great

If I do show up on the Saturday im good to sleep in the car (as usual) so I'lol just see how things go on the weekend

Looking forward to it brother

Cheers Sam

Disco

I have bought a new felling axe and bow saw today, will see you on Sunday.
nice one will see you sunday i,m going up there tomorrow to see if you can still get to the entrance, i know the snow was bad up there last night as i spent nearly 5 hrs up there ferrying people home who had parked up for the night from my end

thanks for coming to help today mrmayze hope u get your a.b.s sorted for the weekend out if not the offers still there with my boys truck. at least we got a bit more done and by the the looks of that climb up to the top the winches on mine & mr noiseys trucks could be doing over time getting peeps to the top of that. but at least its nice to know some other peeps have been doing some clearing up there as well.

Hey up mate

How did you get on?

How does it look in daytime?!

Fooking awesome, is the answer to how it looks. Not sure that sinking up to my axles repeatedly isn't going to be the order of the day though.

No worries on helping out Disco, my feet have just warmed up still cursing myself for forgetting my boots and having to trudge through that in trainers.

Where did you boys get up to?

It wasn't too bad in the forest but when we walked up to the fallen trees it suddenly got pond-like under foot
:hysterically_laughisorry could'nt resist the big tree has now gone there's one or two more that i clear'd earlier but in the daylight it will still require a bit more work from the other end. once you get past the fallen tree there's one hell of a climb that i'd suggest sams tray back then either my rangie your or disco up it for an anchoring point to get the rest of the group up its definately not to be taken lightly there were some trial bikes up it on sunday and even they were sinking. i mean to say i,ve not seen bull lane but i,ve done b'stard lane, the bomb hole, the osprey ring, it even makes the devils brigade challenge look like a kindergarden outing i,m going back up this sunday & saturday to do a bit more any more volunteers welcome to join me. i,m hoping to try & get it clear before febs outing then i can bung in the osprey ring track on saturday. as a bonus

Bull lane is easy pal, it's a choppy scramble but you're not dealing with deep marsh/bog!

I think the amount of water under foot at that point shows things could get messy!

I'm sorry Dave but I'm away/booked up for the next three weekends, then it's the 27th!

I'll have a try at the climb under my own steam if thats ok:)

Typical, that's the weekend my wife is flying to the UK from Ethiopia. No Essex to North Wales excursion for this Scotsman. Sounds like a great weekend. I'll have to come sample your hard work in spring/summer when 'She who must be obeyed' has acclimitised to British weather. Anyone going to do a write up on the weekend with pics? Maybe a good article for the Landy mags.
