I have a 2005 TD5 that I use a nanocom with.

I have read on forums that normal Highway speed temperatures are under 105C.

Elsewhere I have read anything over 96C is bad news.

When I get close to 3k RPMS for extended periods I will get 101-102 degrees. My needle on the dash of course is well within normal range, but My nano makes the ! at anything over 96.

Can someone give me an idea if this is normal, if not, what should I be looking into first?

Thanks gang.

Vincent

Mine sits fairly steady at 80-85 from memory last time I did a log with nanocom. That was after a new thermostat too. Depends on your enviroment though and how hard the engine is having to work.
Where are you from?

When my thermostat was bad on my Td5, it would always go well into the 90s since the coolant wasn't being circulated. New thermostat and waterpump and it sits at 85-87 warmed up, occasionally would hit 90-91 on high-boost extended uphills.

With those tyres be happy with 102*C at 3Krpm or uphill, it's not strange at all... it will be even more in the summer unless you tune up the cooling system with a bigger radiator and light spring thermostat
Well mystery solved! lol. Thank you for your prompt reply. Bigger radiator. That is intriguing. Where could I snag one of these?

Thank you for the help I really appreciate it.
