You see all these defenders and even series these days with nasty alloys on. How the feck do you change/repair the halfshaft, or do up hubnuts, pack rollerbearings with grease, without taking the wheel off, when theres no drive flange?

In most cases these days people pay somebody else to take the wheels off cos unding em yourself is too difficult. The sad thing is that I aint joking. The number of wheel changes I go out to where the driver doesn't know how to do it is unreal.:(

Yep me anorl, then when you get there and ask for the locking whell nut key/tool and they tell you its in my safe at home  cos i dont want to loose it, haven't you got one FFS some peeps realy do try your patience.
That has actuatly happened to me twice.

The same as you would on any car - take the wheel off and everything is behind it, the "drive flange" is the disc brake rotor/ brake drum attached to the hub. Simples.

Putting alloys on a defender or series motor is just displaying very bad taste indeed. In fact it should be a crime on a series landy punishable by having it taken off you and given to someone who'll appreciate it.
