Hi all took the Lanny to a pay and play on the weekend and had loads of fun in the puddles then she cut out on me, i managed to get it home and left it too dry out in the sun i started her this morning she fired up purring like a kitten then i gave it a slight rev and heard a clicking sound then she cut out i have wiggled a few wires in the foot well and i think i have found the problem there is a five pin relay that connects to a blue plug i have taken a photo but cant up-lode due to the size of the image does anybody know if this could be the problem as i cant find any other fault with the car i have cleaned all the sand out of the connectors dried them off and plugged it all in again but it is still clicking its head off i am hoping this is just a new relay and off i go but i am just wondering if anybody with some more knowledge can help me out.

Any particular model or engine with this one?

hi its a 1995 discovery 1 3.9 v8 also the relay is a black one cheers
Don't know specifically what your issue is, but they have a lot of electronics on them. And I would guess they don't like water, so if you have managed to get it wet inside I would think you are on the right track.
Not had any problems with mine, touch wood. Give it a while, maybe someone who has experienced the same issue will post up about it in a bit! :)

Any motor factors should sell them mate or try a breakers and get 2nd hand 1 or a few jjust in casr and get thwm waterproofed as petrol engines dont like water

Your Starter relay would have been yellow when your vehicle left the factory, part number is YWB 10027L.

Depending on you vehicles spec you will find a few yellow relays in the footwell they are use for a/c, dim dip, alarm so if your sure you have an issue with the starter relay do a temporary swap by removing and using a yellow relay to check.

Assume you have clean ignition coil top and starter motor terminals. :)
