Hello all,

My name is Simon and I live in South London. I currently drive a Jeep Cherokee (please don't flame me). I am thinking about getting a 110 defender, but first I would like to find out where the nearest green lanes are to me?

I have done some green laning previously up Yorkshire way on an old Roman road, a trip which was organised by a relative and which comprised of 3 vehicles ambling sedately over green fields, a thoroughly enjoyable expedition. I would like to get into this properly, can anyone give me some advise please? Is there anywhere in existance a map of green lane sites in the UK?

Thanks, Simon.

:welcome2:Simple Simon :mooning::hysterically_laughi

There are maps available which show all the Green Lanes throughout the country. They are readily available from an organisation called Ordnance Survey.

Unfortunately, you would have to learn to reead a map!

Each local authority also has a Green Lanes Officer, whose sole purpose in life is to re-list any route that can be driven to either a Bridle Path or a footpath!

Look for your local LandRover Owners Club (or buy LRO) to find your nearest contacts.

Sorry, almost forgot :welcome2:Simon ... and please get rid of the heap!!

What's a map ??:confused:

Isn't that what they used to use in the dark ages? :p[/quote

Wrong response for someone wanting info for your enjoyment:mooning:

Well, this is a nice friendly place! I asked a question, was mocked by yourself, then gently chided by someone else although useful info was kindly given, so I replied in kind, and am now criticised for that! Is there anything I could have written in response that wouldn't have been criticised? :doh:

P.S - What's with the trouser smiley?

Some people are just looking for a bit of sport, don't worry about it. I've not posted much on here but I've read a lot of crap that a very select few do post.
Get yourself a defender, I've had mine for a month and they're fantastic (when they work that is) :D
