no.sorry i mean resetting the alarm. My disco is a 1996 reg.I have been fitting a new drivers door handle,i set the alarm off a few times. Now it will not start,it turns over fine and did run great up to then.

OK if the engine can be cranked (turns over) and with the red LED not being illuminated then it's not immobilised. Unless you have had modifications to the 'spider'.

Synchronising the fob after battery disconnection is just pressing the lock button four times... but u say the fobs functions, that is locking/unlocking which will also is setting the alarm.

Therefore u r no where nearer to why you engine won't start.. I'm never owned a diesel vehicle so sorry to say I haven't a clue on them, so we will have to wait for a post from a diesel owner who does.

Turns over fine,Disconnected battery to do some welding fitted a door handle, drained clutch master cylender ready to replace,Will not start now.It was running great before then.I haven't checked anything else yet.

OK I would part unscrew an injector to see if fuel is coming out. If its not then start looking at the stop solenoid. You may have fried it.
Rule of thumb the arc / current will go from electrode to earth strap on welder so if you put the earth somewhere else on the chassis the current may go astray.

Anyone else feel free to jump in.

It could still be immobolised - sort of- 12volts is not getting to the fuel solenoid cut off valve. It will turn over but not start if that happens, Im not sure if the immobiliser going wrong could cause that to happen but its worth a check, yoh may also have disturbed some wiring and/ or blown a fuse which could have caused power not to get to the valve.

I agree with Kiwi I would put 50p its the immobilizer holding the solenoid shut. Easy to find out.
Keep us informed.
Ps if you pull an injector line stand back it may go everywhere.

Not had a look yet, still got a patch to weld and rear shock absorber bushes to change oh and a front wheel bearing to change.Probebly get away with greasing it.If the weather is ok,i might have a go at it tomorrow.

Right.Changed clutch master cylender rubbers, still no clutch. The thing is i can't do the work on it due to bad health.Gonna let it go,can't afford to run 2 motors or pay for repares.Had it, mauling with motors.

No,not yet.Its not the fuel pump,i know its nothing major the engine is great. It's just cheesing me off, gonna check the stop solenoid tomorrow. The clutch is the main job,it just lost all pressure. It says in the manual it's easier to take the engine out than take the box off, eather way its a no.Shame realy she's quite solid.
