Hi new to the forum today.
Help im having a bit of a starting problem with my 1991, 110, 200TDi defender.
Last month was alarmed by smoke pouring out of the fuse box after putting on the heater.
so pulled over and stopped engine, waited a bit turned it over again this time even more smoke and the fuse box starting to melt. Both heater wires were completely melted along with a white orange wire. I cut away what was left of the heater wires but all I got was a click from the relay when I tried to start it.
moving forward in time to so ive now removed the whole dash unwound all the wiring loom and traced the burnt out w/o wire, completely remapped it replacing the burnt out wires whole new fuse box. So big day comes key in ignition.....dash lights on all electrics ok.....click
nothing, no crank just the clicking relay.
I dont have a voltage meater and not 100% confidant at using one if I had one.
Any ideas where to look next ??? Thanks

Try the introduce yerself section ;)

And you will have to be a bit more clear in your post if you want help.
Maybe a few qs at a time, and be more specific. When you say heater, is that cab heater or glow plugs? Can you post any pics of the wires and where they lead?
And if you don't have a volt meter and aren't confident to use it, maybe you should think about consulting an auto sparks.
