Hello,

I want to put some leather seats in my 1987 3.5 l Range Rover Classic. Problem is that my current cloth seats do not have electric setting and that all leather seats I can find are equipped with electric motors to adjust position. So here's my question: does anyone know if it's possible to find manual leather seats for my car ?
And if not, do you think I could install electric seats and bring them back to life with any decent power coming from the not so far fuse box…

Thanks for looking.

Call round local breakers; P38 SE models usually have manual adjust leather seats. Not sure what work is involved to make them fit a RRC tho.........someone will no doubt be along shortly to let you know!

I wouldn't imagine that the elctrics would be too difficult. You would have to bring in power to feed the motors but forget about getting any memory function as this is likely part of of the BeCM (at least in a P38).

Would suggest that the sticking point would be the physical seat mountings on your classic versus what any donor seat would have.

My mate did this swap - he had a 1989 Vogue and for some reason a guy with a 1990 Vogue SE wanted to swap his leather seats for my mates cloth ones? Very odd! Anyway, they swapped over fine and from what I remember they just needed a power source to the switches/motors - no memory function until later models, but even then movement should be easy to sort, just the memory function won't work!

Or, you could retrim your seats perhaps?

Leather seats that burn your/your girl-friends bare legs if left parked in the sun? Leather seats that are cold & slippery in the winter? What`s odd about about wanting to bin them?
