Could anybody offer any advice locating the cause of a moaning noise
from the rear when cornering. Vehicle is Disco II with ACE fitted. It
seems to be from the rear-left, especially when the body starts to
roll coming off roundabouts. I had a quick look and couldn't see
anything obvious.

Thanks
James

Jimmy,

To stop the moaning noise from the rear, ask the mother-in-law to sit in the
front seats.
Hope that sorts the problem.

Check it's not a wheel bearing, they can moan under cornering some time.
Jack up the wheel and see if there's any play.

I had this once on my Disco I and it turned out to be the nut holding the
rearmost exhaust pipe mount coming loose... Easy to fix, but
embarrassingly, I'd already replaced the wheel bearing by that time :(

Thanks for that. I will check the wheel bearings and exhaust. It's
in for service today and an independant mechanic (I'm not paying
dealer prices). They might spot it!
