Noise when changing down a gear

My freelander makes a like vibrating sound whenever i change down a gear or slow down when still in gear the sound sounds like its comming from the prop shaft or diff any ideas ???

Does it have 4 identical tyres? Same make, same type, same pressure?
Have you done the one wheel up test?
If no then do the one wheel up test ASAP.
If you're running with an odd mix of tyres, then remove the propshafts before the IRD explodes.

Thanx pal , just been and seen a mate hes said to remove the prop and have the vcu reconditioned and ile be fine with it running only 2wd until its been reconditioned

Make sure you notify your insurance company, as removing the props is seen as making the Freelander non approved. This would be used as a "get out" from paying, should the worst happen.
