Hello,
I have a RR p38 which does not have a working HEVAC, Windows, Wipers etc etc.
These are all the things which come on when the key is turned to position two.

I read on another thread that one should check the grn single from position 1?
If I join position 1 output and position 1 input from the becm would this be the same as bypassing the barrel and any potential problems outside the becm. This is just to check if the problem is internal or external to the becm.

Or should I be doing the same with position ignition 2 input/ output?

The SRS airbag light also is on the dash, It never goes out though, just dim/ brighter to dim again...

Could it be the connector on the steering coloum? Maybe its as simple as that?

Thanks guys.

Time to plug into a diagnostic device I think....

From your previous thread regards these items, I take it you couldn't get power to the section of the BeCM you wanted to??

Do you have the RAVE technical manuals with the electrical Manuals in it?? if not get them from here land rover service factory manual RAVE download land rover resource, service manual, workshop factory manual, download, rave, vehicles including discovery, series, defender, range rover, freelander, LR3, Handbooks, Catalog, Catalogue, Land Rover Inte

I jumped the input from ignition 1 in / out. This made the HEVAC light up and work except nothing else worked...

The light was not lit up on the hevac, it was as if it was on limited power.

Does this make lead to any potential problem?

Keep a fire extinguisher handy.

A long shot perhaps as I don't know exactly what is working and what isn't in your car, but mine had a similar issue where the BECM seemed to 'crash' and go into a fail-safe mode. No windows, HEVAC, main beam, etc. It wouldn't talk to Nanocom either. I disconnected the battery waited for an hour and reconnected it. Been fine ever since (so far!). Maybe worth a try?

Cheers

Jerry

That's a common problem within the becm.
It's on the circuit that switches power when cranking so the starter has full power, & when started, the relay kicks the power back to the wipers, radio, windows etc.

So key position 2, everything should work, crank & start the engine, & the power is not flipping back.

It could be repaired.
