Hi,
Have a 63 plate defender puma,
It came into the workshop driving fine but with a split boost pipe (top intercooler pipe) we replaced this pipe and now it starts and idles fine but will not rev past 1k rpm.
We have checked all plugs and changed the egr valve and when scanned with our edis it comes with fault 253f unknown fault and 2365 unknown fault and we're pulling our hair out.

Check for a faulty hose between the turbo and the intercooler. Don't know if this affected 63 plate, but on my 62 plate there was a short 90 degree hose off the turbo which burst. This was replaced under warranty / recall and now has a steel section with a rubber section each side of it (rubber from turbo to steel, rubber from steel to intercooler). If yours has the steel section already then ignore this post. The problem was a universal joint on the steering column which was too close / in contact with the original rubber hose and gradually cut into the hose.
Is your edis programmed for a Puma? I use a nanocom that directly reads out the fault rather than a code and it is model specific.

Not certain about this, but is the edis for Fords? Although the defender tdci uses a ford puma engine I understand the defender has a completely different management system and the edis will not work? Worth checking. Also worth checking that you did not disturb any sensors or associated wires while you were working on it. Throttle sensor ok?

Ford is etis,
Edis is a standalone does everything (rediculosly expensive, with tech support) boss bought lol but isn't giving me anything 9ther than the too unknown faults I've checked all the sensors however tomorrow morning I'm getting it on the ramp for a thourough inspection

update,
no joy so far
removed every intake pipe and inspected and refitted, new maf and still only idles and when it does its like a bag of spanners and throwing p2263

its worth checking turbo acuator is adjusting the boost on turbo and that vanes will move fully through range you can check by remove linkage rod and operating it by hand

Good shout I haven't check that,
We have replaced all boost hoses,
Replaced egr
Replaced maf
Haven't checked the turbo actuator and haven't done a dpf regeneration
