Having an issue with a Facelift 2004 TD4.
No power when engine cold especially in this snowy weather.
To get to the main road I have to drive up a steep cobbled road for about 300 yards, when the engine is cold I'm lucky if I reach the top of the hill at 10 mph feeling like she isn't going to make it. When the engine is warm she storms up 30 mph +.

There are no issues starting, fires up first time.

Work done so far

1)Full set of injectors replaced
2)All filters replaced (BMW mod to engine breather/filter)
3)New MAF
4)New Turbo Hoses
5)EGR bypass fitted

Have had all wiring connections checked/cleaned.

This was an issue before having all the previous work carried out. It seemed to clear (weather got warmer) issue initially but now temperatures have dropped again she's now misbehaving yet again.

Cheers for any thoughts or help in advance.

Let her warm up for a bit then  :D

Try telling the misses to wait till it warms up.
This is her second FL, first one had none of the issues with cold weather as this is.
It is not a power drop off its a no power whatsoever.
It feels like the engine going into limp home mode without any warning lights.
Engine just does not rev, feels choked up but after a couple of miles goes like a rocket.

My mate has a Peugot 307 diesel that has recently been exhibiting these exact symptoms. He stuck it into Peugot on Monday and they diagnosed a siezed intercooler bypass valve that, apparently, should operate when the engine is cold, but wasn't. Prior to that he went down the MAF sensor, intercooler hose, etc, route to no avail.

I have no idea if such a valve exists on a Td4 intercooler, but it could be worth investigating.

The TD4 has a variable vane turbo - the operating solenoid may be sticking when cold

I'm having the same problem...

My 2003 TD4 starts just fine, but it hesitates to shift gears when cold (1st to 2nd) and I start the incline up to the main road she looses power and I have to sport shift down to 1st gear to make it to the top.

The dashboard displays the check engine light when it overrevs and takes an extra moment to shift gears until the engine is warm.
(And by cold, I don't mean freezing - just not up to operating temp - morning outdoor temperatures are 70F every day here in the Caribbean)

Any ideas?

Mine does this. I put a tuning chip on it recently and it did improve but still takes 5 mins to free up.Only does it in the cold weather though. Feels like the handbrake is on but its not.
Did a run and checked the rear drums for heat but stone cold.
