Hi there, I have had a TDI for a few years and have just got a 110 TD5 on an 02 plate. It seems to go perfectly for a few miles then without any reason starts to loose power under load.
Someone told me that it was due to oil in the rocker cover getting into the wiring for the injectors. Does anybody know how to fix this? I think myself it's down to the accelerator switch which i have renewed about 6 months ago. Help pleease!!!!

Your landy is going into limp mode/default mode. It sounds like you have a faulty sensor. Is it misfiring? If you pull the red plug off your ECU it will have black splodges in the end of the plug if it is oil contamination. I think this is unlikely though.

My TD5 has a tendancy to eat coolant temp sensors. When they go they cause this. It could also be due to a sticking wastegate that then causes overboost. Mine also suffers from this due to plenty of wading.

What makes you think it's down to the throttle potentiometer?

Will try the sensor first and report back.
Had a problem with the accelerator a while back and it would only tick over no matter what you did with the pedal. Fly by wire i'm told its called.

If you edit your profile to show your location you may find people local are willing to give you a hand. If you're anywhere near somerset I'm happy to plug your landy into a diagnostic for you.
