No power to indicators, gauges or rear wiper following short - What else can I check?

When reconnecting the rear wash/wiper switch on the dash I transposed 2 of the connectors on the side and got a 'pop'. Number 3 fuse blew (gauges/indicator/wiper) which I replaced along with an inline fuse in the permanent live feed (labled battery). Replacing the inline fuse is OK and juice is flowing but the rear wiper, fuel & temp gauges and indicators are not back working. All lights work, including reversing and brake lights.

Taking the number 3 fuse out and testing for current direct to the the fuse holder terminal, I have established that there is power getting to the fuse. Don't know what to do next. Any suggestions?

Check the feed side of each component, if it's showing an earth when switched off then it's probably got a dead short in the wiring somewhere. Try powering each component up to check they work as well, also check every fuse in the box

Yep its frowned upon for new joiners not to introduce themselves before jumping in and asking questions.................... ;)

Apologies if I have been rude. Joined 18 months ago but not visited much so.... no excuses.

Hi I'm Rusty Horse with a 1995 110 SW.

Thanks for the responses. Having tried checking all I could easily access I took the dash off to see if power was getting to the gauges. Juice seemed to be flowing OK so was puzzeled why they weren't working.... and hey they did . All electrics came back. Possible a short behind the dash was sorted by me removing it and wiggling wires. There were a few redundant wires (old alarm) so I ripped them out and tidied up the connections. All seems good now.
