Classic no power to coil

my 3.9 v8 just cut out, after investigation I found there was no power to the coil.. If a direct supply from the battery is attached to the coil, it fires up ok. All wires on the ignition switch are secure and have power when turned on.All fuses inside the vehicle are ok, cant find any under the bonnet. Anyone got any idea"s. Ta.

What about a factory fitted immobiliser ?
Not sure when LR got around to specifying such security devices.

the amplifier on the side of the distributer. it breaks down with the heat cycles. there is a Lucas remote amp kit which puts a dummy amp on the side of the dizzy and moves the actual amp to bracket under the coil.
