No power to CD player

I had a CD player in for a while and it was working fine, took it out for some reason. Gone to put it back in and there isn't any power going to it. Tried 2 CD players and neither work. I've checked the fuse and all wiring is fine any suggestions? Cheers

Fuse in the stereo.usually at the back

Is it the original Philips kit? as a Philips CD multiplayer picks up its 12v supply direct from the Philips head unit.

Or loose connector on plug not makin contact to supply power

It's a Casio and the one before was an alpine. It was working fine but now there's no power. I have checked all the wires and looked fine. I'll have another check though. Is it just 2 fuses, 1 fuse on the CD player and one in the fuse box in the car?

Haven't a clue, I thought Casio made calculators

It could be a faulty unit, don't u have a Casio wiring diagram

Maybe I've bought a calculator and that's why it's not working! I do. Would I be ok to wire it direct to the battery to test it?

Try the alpine unit again see if its the cd player itself.

I've tried, doesn't work! I've given up. All wiring looks fine fuse is fine don't know what else to do.

Connect your CD player to a separate supply or straight to the battery (but be very careful not to short it out!). If the player turns on then it's not to blame - sounds unlikely to have two duff units anyway.
If you have a meter (a cheepo one is only a few quid from Maplin etc), then check for 12V at the wiring loom connector to the player (I've not looked, so I don't know if the ground is one of the pins in the connector or via the chassis). Wiggle the wiring around to see if comes and goes. If there's nothing there, go back to your fuse box and check there is a supply to the fuse and check the fuses continuity.
If that looks good, try and trace the wiring up to the dash and see if its worn through somewhere, although I would have expected the fuse to goes if that had happened.
