good evening,

having read numerous posts and not being any the wiser i wonder if you good people can help me,
i have a 98 dse auto with 91,000 on the clock and it runs quite well for a heavy old beast,it accelerates ok but when i get to around 50 mph and in top gear it doesn't seem to pull,i have around a inch of travel in the throttle pedal with nothing happening.
if i put my foot right down then it drops a gear and pulls away but is revving its nuts off!
i have only had her for about 2 weeks and just serviced her, problem was there before the service!
i have disconnected the egr but that hasnt made any difference,
any help or ideas would be much appreciated :)

many thanks
Darren

When the toque converter locks up around 50 there is not a lot of power until you drop a gear and the turbo kicks in. they are a little sluggish unless you prod them firmly, and have a very long travel on the throttle pedal to suit off road users.Stamp on them and they can get along nicely

Does she pull well up to that point or is it a little lack lustre getting there??

Could be worth looking at the small plastic pipe from under the manifold to the MAP sensor on the top of the fuel filter....sometimes these get blocked or split causing a drop in power.

i have a yamahe R1 that does nearly 110mph in first gear so everything seems slow getting to 50 mph compared to that :)

it dont seem to bad getting there as it is a heavy old girl but i will check out the pipe coming from the manifold to the map sensor.

thanks
