Any advice would be great, I had a side light issue nearside out and popping fuses new switch fitted on steering Column as old one melted then near side rear light over bright and eventually popped but all lights gone including dash lights I have checked all fuses and new fitted switch but all looks ok any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum, for starters what vehicle as I've left my crystal ball upstairs :p
If the switch of said vehicle had melted then I suggest you trace some wiring as it sounds to be earthing at some point, not uncommon in older vehicles (if that's what you have) as wires can rub and wear off the outer protection causing a short.

Sorry it's td5 defender 2003 all shrouding looks good

I can't really offer anymore advice, try asking in the defender section including which brand of headlight switch you purchased as some are better than others. Have you physically tested the fuse or just looked at it? Does anything else electrical work?
