Hi folks,

In need of a little advise, I keep getting a loud clunk on a right hand lock and it feels as though the car actually drops a little when it happens, its loud enough for people to turn and look, it feels like a snapped shock but i've checked and all seems ok. Then i went for 200km drive and when I went round a roundabout i got a large grinding noise like something snapped, with only 30km to go I thought i'd limp it back, after a little while all seemed ok and was able to drive at normal speeds,
Now when ever i turn on full lock either way it feels like she goes real tight, she then has a little judder for a short while then back to normal.

Gone though the normal search routine, just looking for any extra input!

Not long put on new TF steering damper, ball joints, panhard bushes.

What size tyres are you running?

Running standard tyres 205 x 16 at present, Springs where the first thing I checked - no breakages all seems to be ok.

Guess i'll just start with 1 item and keep changing bits till I've solved it.

It does sound like CV joints. I note you have some on order. Whilst you are installing the new ones, check the swivel and wheel bearings and replace as necc.

UPDATE.....

Well just finished changing - Shock's springs, castor arms and bushes, wheel bearings, CV joints, disc's, pads, pan hard bushes, A frame ball joint, prop dounut and i still have the bloody clunk!!!!!!!!!!

What else could it be?

Cheers

I had what sounds a bit like your prob, when on full lock get a clunking rubbing sound, eventually turn out to be my tyre was rubbing on the radius arms.. adjusted wheel turn nut and all fixed.. Just a thought.. good luck.

Update #2

Had a very experienced mate look at the car this afternoon he took it for a test drive and within 10 mtrs he knew what the problem was......

The dam thing is stuck in diff lock!!!!
don't know what damage has been done but I now see light at the end of the tunnel.

so new transfer box is needed, will fit the new clutch at the same time..........
