I know, I know!
Checked the fuse which was ok, bought a new horn, still doesn't work, pulled the end of the stalk and it looks ok? Don't know where to go from here, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful.
Cheers

Check voltage at stalk. Check continuity at stalk. Check voltage at horn. Check continuuity (to earth) at horn.
There's not much more to it, to be honest. If there's 12v at the stalk switch, but not at the horn, you've got a broken wire.

Hey. thanks instantsquid - I tested continuity (to earth) at horn. Cleaned the contact points, tried the horn and 'parp' for the first time since I bought it... Amazing how good you can feel about something pretty small on the grand scale of things. :)

Hi
I am a new member
When you say stalk do you mean the clip connector?
When i press buttons on wheel no voltage to horn(tested with meter as well)
(Both horns work as alarm runs both as both beep on locking when bonnet open)
I tested rotary coupler
Its ok
I tested buttons on wheel both ok.
Fuses ok (am i right in saying there is one fuse and one relay for horn)
You say check continuity to earth.
Could you guide me how to do this.
I have to take it back to pass mot as it only failed on horn.)
Thank you

Intruder Alert - Watch out lads we have a /\/\/\/\/\ freelander /\/\/\/\/\/\ in the defender section - turn out the guard!!:D:D:D

Guy, probably worth popping over to the Freelander forum and asking over there (which is here). Us defender owners don't aspire to high tech systems like having horn buttons on your steering wheel! While we could have a good guess others over on the other side may be of more help.

Oh and welcome, hope to see you over here once you progress to a defender:D
