P38A No HEVAC display at all - A/C is working it seems.

Hi folks, it never rains but it pours it seems.
Today's "P38 Surprise" is a completely blank HEVAC display panel.
I am sure the A/C is working to an extent (so blooming hot today).
When I push the AUTO button on the HEVAC panel it ramps up the fan-speed and "cool" (but not freezing cold) air comes out the vents. When I press the A/C Off button the light blinks on and off and then goes solid (normal state when switched to "OFF" and the distribution fan drops back to a lower speed. But no display of either ambient temp, desired temp or anything else. Was all working fine on Sunday for 100+ miles of boil in the sun driving.
Checked the fuses (42 & 35) and they are OK. When you press the A/C Auto button you can hear a clunk (A/C Clutch I think) and the big bore pipe on the A/C Compressor goes cold to the touch so I assume the A/C is refrigerating OK. Just no display at all on the HEVAC unit.
Not had any missing pixels or any other issues.

Will do some searches, but if anyone has a starter for 10 I would appreciate it.

Thanks Keith, I intended to try shining a bright light onto it (like you do when a laptops screen goes blank because the backlight fails), but right now it is too bright and sunny outside and definitely too hot to be squinting at that tiny screen while bent double. Will have a go at it later this evening. Thanks again.

@Datatek - You were right Keith....Been out in it in the dark and yes with sidelights on etc. you can faintly (very faintly) see all the display elements working as they should.
Full HVAC bulb kit on order.

Pulling the transmission tunnel side panels is the hard bit, not so hard with practice, I think I may have a write up somewhere if you need it let me know.

I found a You-Tube on the very subject just yesterday Keith. It looks do-able even for a numpty like me. ;) I already have the plastic-pry-bar tools for separating the trim panels from their clips from when I took the door card off to do the drivers door-latch.

**UPDATE**
All fixed. Boiling hot day for doing the job, but the new "bulb-set" was taunting me.
Everything is working, the "Book" symbol is back (along with everything else).
Not too worried about the book symbol as it comes & goes. All the flaps seem to work and air gets where it should and is nice & cold.
