Ummmmm when you say a fixed panel, does it have a little circle, with a little button , several inches above it slightly to the right? Looks a bit like the picture below...... I am hoping, for your sake, it doesn't

Hi Gold Rover - yes it does and now I know why you said what you said!!!
I managed to open it !!!!!
Next I will look for the fuse box.
I think I am going to be on a very very steep learning curve!!!

Thank you for the quick and helpful reply

You're welcome but I hope you have broad shoulders and a VERY good sense of humour because I am going to tell sooooo many people about this one. Starting with @holidaychicken , @Saint.V8 , @tomcat59alan . :D:D:D
I will also add, steep learning curve doesn't cover it. The L322 is a complicated, demanding, stroppy b¥tch. I had quite a good working knowledge of 'normal' cars, including older 4x4s and military land rovers before I bought mine and she almost brought me to my knees this last year.
If you are not able to do most of the work yourself, she will quickly empty your bank balance, even with the help of the folks on here.
Not being able to even open your glove compartment doesn't bode well but I wish you luck because when they are going well, they are worth all the hassle they cause.;)

P.s the fuse box is under your CD player, if you have one, behind a small panel covered with whatever material inside your glove box has. It has two small tabs on it, to pull, which will remove the panel and uncover the fuse box.
I suggest you speak to your local stealer and get an owners handbook and go online and get a copy of 'rave'.

No bank balance so have to do all my self. I am a quick learner and not afraid to ask questions ( how to find my fuse box) !!
I am sure I will be back asking more questions and maybe one day I will be able to answer some!

Hi, Opened glove box and it was stuffed with papers ( old invoices!!!) and owner's handbook!!! Just sat reading it now.
Tried that Rave site but I dont have windows ( mac user) and I thought it said it was discontinued and moved.

Oh and while I'm in a helpful mood , check if one of those invoices is for a recon of the gearbox. If not check it soonest.

Unfortunately not! I have read a lot about the box and its faults but there does seem to big difference's of opinion regarding oil changes and plus and minus? What are your thoughts. I am currently looking for a Complete L322 parts book that I can download - one with pics of the part and the part number to go with it.

Not sure if you mentioned the mileage but I'd say at the very least check if the sump is still sealed, do an oil and filter change, check for metal filings and keep your fingers crossed. The microcat link is on here somewhere, a search will flush it out.
Also the big boys will be home soon and able to give their thoughts on gearbox/parts catalogues etc.

Dang Goldie, you are good, the site i use is www.lrparts.ru, its Russian but very usable, just click on the l322 pic on the left hand side and then select the relevant box for which part of the vehicle you are looking for and then hover over the various boxes to find what you want and then click on the part numbers. A box will open and show the chassis numbers and the land rover part numbers are to the left and how many you need.
it takes a bit of getting used to. don't use the back button as it takes you all the way out but click on the menu line at the top.
I have also attached another picture, you are looking for something that looks like those to get you onto the internet, you should also have something that looks like a small television .....;):D

Andy don't make me laugh when I've just taken a swig off coffee, you fiend. :D
That's the very linky I was thinking of but couldn't remember. I think my advice is absolutely, definitely, without a shadow of doubt the most technical and helpful , with pictures, EVER, so there!! :p:D:D

@gold rover err, what are doing drinking coffee at alcohol o clock, i have told you before, guinness only after noon :)
Your advice is good Private Pyle, you are definitely born again hard! Hell, I may even allow you to serve as a rifleman in my beloved Corps.;)

@mark stansfield Download rave here - http://www.landroverresource.com/

It's a pdf file (not the football coach type) and so you must be able to open them on a mac even, if not download a free pdf viewer for mac from one of these https://www.iskysoft.com/edit-pdf/pdf-reader-for-mac.html

battery needs to be changed in the correct way, basically you need to make sure the satnav light is off and stays off before disconnecting the battery and also wait for the SRS system to shut down.
your second task is to find the correct procedure on landzyone or in rave to clarify my advice:)

Indeed and I was :) Easy mistake to make looking at the avatar. I for some reason read Pyle as Plane, I blame it on retirement and the fact the Golden Girl has seriously damaged my mind lately :confused:o_O:(
