No air filter

I used to have a 1964 Cooper S with twin SUs and Ram Pipes (no filters).
It was fine but I didn't ever drive it across Salisbury Plain on a warm dusty day.

oh my god yes!!!!!!! Buy an inline filter or at least put a mushroom on top...

When i bought my 90 it had a disco 300 too and although it had a snorkel with a mushroom top, it also lacked a filter. The filter should mount onto a black bracket, quite close to the bulkhead on the drivers side. However, if your 90 has an lt77 gearbox (reverse up by 1st) then you could find that there isn't enough space to simply attach the filter because the engine will sit further back due to the length of the gearbox bellhousing. If this is the case then you will have to mount it somewhere else in the engine bay and make up all the hosing/bracketry, if it is far enough forward then it's happy days.
If you do use the proper mounting bracket then keep an eye on the 4 plastic brackets as they have a tendency to shear off.
As for an air filter can, have a trawl on ebay. A lot of people reckon the best ones are the round metal cans fitted to defenders (and i think 200 discos) as opposed to the square plastic ones fitted to the disco 300
