On the way home today my gear shift became very stiff, so much so you can't find natural or feel any gears.
I've taken the gear shift off and all seems good, the problem seems to be in the housing bolted to the top of the gearbox,
Can anyone shed some light on this before i go deeper ?
 
I have had the ball in top pretty much seize up on me before, strip down and lube and it was okay again, not sure if it was a deeper problem but seemd to me to be the ball itself.
 
Taken the whole remote housing off doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it, all seems free as a bird, must be deeper in the box
 
Hi, not sure if we have crossed wires, the part in the picture all moves freely now it's removed from the gearbox, the stiffness is in the main gearbox

Loosening the interlock and lifting it about 5mm (not sure if i should remove the interlock completly) does seem to have made some improvement forward and back but still dificult to find anything other than reverse.
I have to eaither lower the gearbox or take the seat box off to completely remove the remote housing, i'll do that next so i can take some pictures.
One thing I did notice is when moving the gear stick from side to side the shaft in the remote housing is trying to move fore and aft as if something isnt lined up correctly.

Just a bit more info, if you wiggle the gear stick you can get it into a nice neutral position where you can select 3rd and 4th normally, but try to go either side and it take's excesive force where it all locks up again untill you give it a wiggle and 3rd and 4th can be selected again.

I'll get some picture's later today or tomorrow

After removing the remote gear change completly i can see nothing out of place, so on advise i've droped the oil, picture dosen't do it justice, in the sun the oil shines like metalic paint and the sump plug has a nice build up too.

theres an interlock for 5th bolted on underneath of the top and locates the collar on the box selector shaft, likewise the other 4 gears plus reverse use the center interlock to locate them,if you remove it you should see a pin located between two selector fork jaws if box is in neutral, its possible for the pin to jump out between the forks that usually leaves it stuck in a gear, if the forks and pin including 5th are aligned correctly its possible a fault with mainshaft postion or a selector hub is applying pressure on the selector shaft, with the interlock removed you can see its collar on selector shaft similar to 5th you casn rotate the shaft but not the collar as rev lever may well become unlocated
