Lots of good advice, but why is everyone saying get a Discovery? The Freelander and Discovery are different vehicles that do different jobs. Neither is "better" than the other. If you want a Freelander, get a Freelander, but make sure you have a warrenty!

Because some folks have wanted there whole life to drive an Ice Cream Van, a disco fulfills that dream

You'll not find any car or car forum that isn't full of folks warning don't buy this and that etc...as most come on the forums like this when its broke..yer not gonna find a car that doesn't have problems, including those that have several 0's in the price

Had ours a good while now, and its been a dam site easier and cheaper* to maintain/repair than most of the VW,Vauxhall,BMWs we've owned before and Nissan,Toyota,Honda only sell parts that have atleast 3 digits in them

*Provided you can do (a lot of?) the work yourself (but any dealer is gonna sting you for labour not just LR)
