Newbury show - 4x4 spares day

Anyone been?

I believe this is the same place where it used to be the Old Sod sort out, which is now at the beaulieu show.

but the Newbury 4x4 and vintage spare parts day is still happening, altough in Newbury, I've never been..

anyone know if its any good for parts? i mean, is it big enough?

I'll be after bits for my 90..
gearbox, radiator, calipers and whatever i can find cheap....

Its on the 3rd of October, entry is £6

I've been the last 3 times and yes it's quite large. A lot of bargains that disappear very quickly, but lots on sale, new and old scrap. The Agricultural side is also very interesting. I got USA second world war era vice for £20..... it opens up to 18 inches and will easily press bearings in.

I am taking my 3 kids along to the next one, for a day out as much as anything else, but also for spares and anything cheap and handy.

Well..

did anyone go? did you get any bargains?

I was there at quarter to 10 and there was already people coming out with stuff!!! not fokin fair!

Didnt manage to find any of the stuff i was looking for... calipers. discs, radiator...

Bought a bull bar for 20 and my mate bought a roof rack for his disco, brand new, 70.... and the rack looks really good, with tubular bars which surroung the place for the lamps!

didnt even manage to find a decent set of car ramps! or a trolley jack!

altough there was quite a lot of people selling stuff, i think the rain didnt help much...

I got a brand new Mantec wingtop snorkel for v8 with all th ebits for £100, in an old crappy brown wet box.

Metal box for the rear of a defender, 15
Perfect defender windscreen, 8
Defender Wing mirror unit, 5 - just need the glass though
the usual switches and tools.

hoo yes please!!

I need calipers mine are completly or about to seize, they are single point though..
I fitted new pads a week or so ago and was a pain to slide them in!
luckly, or unluckly..for some reason one brake this is thinner than the other and also smaller! god knows why... so that's on my list of stuff to buy.

I found a few calipers at the show, but all double point (i think that's the name?)
