The weather forecast has improved a bit, so I’m off to RustFest.
A little game to keep you occupied - try and spot the man with the massive teeth, he’ll be wearing a Suzuki ( or one of the Jap bikes ) jacket. You’ll know him when you see him. And no, it’s not me.

good day had, on road @ 05.00 and home ~ 19.00hrs:confused:

sqGWaT2.jpg

290 mile roundtrip and van averaged 45mpg - not bad for an old vwt4 with a 1.9tdi conversion (donor B4 Passat had covered 314,000 miles before fitting in the van & that was 9 years ago so it's probably covered half a million now:D)

casualty! van eaten passanger rear pad so tomorrow need to fix that - mot @ 11.00 so early start:(

anyway, swag:cool:

4GL78fp.jpg

200tdi Defender airfilter assembly, something I've been after for for a while - even bought one on ebay but seller cancelled the sale:(

VnWYOc0.jpg

another lucky find:eek: from a different seller and at a fantastic price (thankyou) for one of the missing pieces:)

also had a military front bumper for the Ninety, better than the one already fitted...

Rich.

I looked out for your van, ended up asking 2 other red VW Transporter owners “are you Zed”? They were a bit confused, I must have come across as a shite secret agent type.
Nothing purchased for the Landy, as she needs a new chassis first, but I got a nice step ladder, 5L of glyphosate, loads of gloves, safety glasses etc. Weather was lovely in the end. Didn’t eat anything as the robbing gits want £7/8 quid for their crappy burgers, I paid £4 for a coffee which was just hot dish water. Good day overall.

Don’t know how I missed that! I remember the green OneTen beside you as it’s nearly the same as my mate’s and we spent a while looking around it, I remember looking at that compressor too.
Did you sell a lot?

the green OneTen beside you

that was verry nice:cool:

Did you sell a lot?

no:p

paid for the pitch and fuel so not a bad day & we had a good chat with a few people:cool:

was amusing how many people looked at the compressor & '2000E' / Lotus cortina mk2 gearbox (& talked about it / previous interactions with them) but nobody brave enough to buy:(

to be fair, we didn't expect to sell everything:D:D:D

Rich.

I did see you van and you tried selling me some “junk” (your words!) If I’d known it was you, I’d have had a proper chat! If it helps, I said I had enough junk already and I was lucky to have made it to the sale! And I had a good look at the neighbouring 110 too!

as a side note, admittedly I didn't manage to wander around all the stalls but I didn't see the 'usual' stacks of filters and service items that were a standard purchase of Newbury visits - were they there or do I need better glasses:confused:

anyway, ebay to the rescue & theres some coming

No, they weren’t there. There was a guy there that used to have a big parts stand, he himself was a brick sh’thouse dressed in fatigues, but he hasn’t been at Newbury for a couple of years. Shame, as it was a good prompt to do the annual oil & filter change!

There were a few sellers who I haven’t seen there for some years. Don’t worry though, there were several sellers punting ceramics, tea pots and other random tat! The dynamics of the sale have changed though. Lots of disco 2 parts, not so much series and disco 1 bits and defender parts are getting less too.
