Thanks for the add.
Just bought a series 3 petrol 2.25 and having a spot of trouble getting it running, it's of unknown history having been stood for a couple of years.
Changed all fluids including petrol got it running but very rough and smokey so replaced valve guide seals and new head gasket it then ran a bit better with less smoke but still not good.
so done a compression test today and results were
Dry was 130, 140, 150, 150 then added oil to cylinders and was 135, 150, 150, 150.
I have also replaced distributor with an electronic one new leads and plugs also rebuilt the carb.
Slight wear on cylinder walls with a little lip at the top.
There is also a lot of smoke / oil mist coming out of the crankcase vent pipe and out of the rocker cover cap vent. I'm thinking I need a rebuild or replacement engine,
Does anyone have any idea of the price to have an engine rebuilt.
