Hi All,
New to Land Rover- have had 4 Mercedes in a row but decided to buy British from here on in.
Used to work automotive and spent a lot of time in Solihull.
Just bought a RRS for the daily commute and hopefully some touring/ ski trips.
Have been a pretty active member on Merc forums but will probably have some stupid questions to ask so apologies in advance!

Hi mate, welcome - what mercedes did you have and how old is the sport? Prepare for madness on this site! Good fun though

Hi there!
Last Merc was a CLS 400 fully loaded- I have a F Type R in the garage for the sunny days!
Sport is 3 days registered - some electrical teething problems which I'm expecting to drive me mad

Thanks for the welcome- I'm new to the brand but an old hand on the Merc forums so will mind my manners.
I'm assuming RRS is thought of very badly? No issue with that- I grew up with Defenders and understand the connotations!!

You will get hung on here for having a new RRS! Or new anything! Love the F type from the front but I think abit strange at the back. We have had RRS for the last ten years - great cars and never gave me much trouble. Sold the sport and ordered a Velar - but when I drove it I was really disappointed so cancelled. We have been waiting for the 2018 RRS, not sure when it's being released?

I know what you mean about the Velar- it's claustrophobic inside- really disappointing!
I was thinking of a Vogue but it's just a no no for commute and parking.
You don't like the F-Types arse? That's the best angle from my perspective- I love the way it looks.

I think I maybe joined the wrong forum but it was recommended by someone on the Merc Owners club.. the lynching party will be out soon

welcome
I hava a merc with 200k on the clock and a D2 with 170K
so you might get some stupid merc questions

Unfortunately I cant answer any Landy questions cos im a newbie to the landy range - well did have a 3lander but they dont count on ere:D
if you like a good laugh your in the right place:oops:

That sounds peachy- my first job was in supply chain making Exhausts and Catalysts for Disco 2 and Defender- the boys in green shared your view on freelander- it was a R200 on stilts- god help anyone in a frontal collision- its impact zone was your lower legs- plus the K series was a **** engine!
I'm up for a laugh and will live up or down to the standard- preferably down!

yes but it was easy to work on
did my first head gasket on mine and it started first time when back together
back window re-cabled as cables broken on purchase - again a simple job - if you dont put the motor back together incorrectly:oops:
interior was leather heated seats - nicer than the D2, cloth ripped seat I've got now! - work in progress

if you ask me which one i prefer its got to be the Merc - E270 51 reg
the freelander gets no 2
and the disco no 3

if you ask which i would keep for the next 10 yrs -- its the disco -- just like to drive it :D
