Hello all,
I have been lurking as a guest for some time
I need help ( or so the wife says) i am without a land rover! defender to be precise,i have been looking for some time now, which is how i happened upon your site, with no joy, what am i doing wrong?
I have a budget of £6k cash, give or take no part x and all i want is a solid defender to carry the bikes canoes and kids, green lane duties and weekends at pay and play in and around Scotland.
Is it always this difficult to source good motors?

Bucky the bloke is from Scotland:rolleyes: Maybe Buster can help him:eek: But for 6k should be able to find one. But then we don't know what is spanner skills are and if he know's not to drive with out oil in like that other bloke:D today. If they would give a little more info they would get much more help.

a 90 or 110
wagon or csw
spanner skills

If they would just give better details to what they want instead of being vague

could have a lot to do with it , just have to keep looking .
i have been in the market for 2 in the last 4 years and it takes ages to get onto a good 1 but hold out for a better 1 you wont regret it ;)

sorry, spanner skills good :) but would prefer to use them to modify and not repair right away
90 pref but would not dismiss a good 110.
h/t, csw, truck cab, not fussy condition is more important
£6000 is for a solid good condition base car, my intention is to modify :D
will travel for the right motor.
would like to participate in off road events and green runs with my two sons
cheers

All over both of them.
Although the link you have posted is the American auto trader, don't want to travel that far!

Ok then buy a truck cab more for your money, then find a top and change, If you got kids and a doris might think a 110. Camping gear and the kids get bigger and then there could be more!!!!!!

more kids!!!!!!!!!

how do you guys (and girls) rate the ex-military stuff was tempted by a tithonus 110 but when i rang whitams they were all gone!
are they worth the money?
secondly what about the numerous companys that will refurbish older defenders (simmonites for one?)

 Scotlands a big place John.......they could be hours apart!

A Scottish big is measured in twists and turns and ups and downs and has little relation to size.

My glass is overflowing but I wouldn't offer another members help.

I didn't offer anything, just pointed in the right direction and he has to ask. worst answer is no, and I've had lots of no's in my life:D but more yes's just ask

thought as much ref simmonites and the ex military kit, the search goes on.
I dont know what i will do with my spare time if i actually get one, oh yes fix it:D

thanks for the replies so far.
