Hi ,

Hope you can help. I have a freelander 1.8 es 02 plate. I have the '3 amigos' come up about a minute after setting off every time. when they are not displayed I can feel the abs pump in the pedal , as soon as they come on braking returns to normal. I had it on a diagnostic machine which said front n/s abs sensor fault. I got a new sensor and set about trying to fit , however the current sensor appears different. I have searched the net high and low but to no avail. on the hub there is a nut holding the sensor end in place( 'I think anyway , I cant get this nut out. 8mm is too big and 7mm wont touch it ?? ) Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

Try an American standard wrench. After you get the nut off, save it as a keepsake then burn the car.

that bad eh :) i tried some non metric stuff , as a last resort i will force it off , but I want to enusure i have the correct sensor to replace before I do so . The new part no i have is SSW100080 , it does not look like the one thats on the car however , but I have never seen a different type in all my searching.

hit the head it will expand it as ir mushrooms and loosen it at same time do it enough so socket has to be tapped on 3/8 af is imperial is nerest size but wont work

before yer go mad . . .check yer brake fluid, take for a drive an slam brakes on quite a few times [till abs kicks in] also switch on hill decent , i found the local golf course was the best place for this operation. . . . .

Hi again guys .

Got the sensor out eventually , Its branded BMW and the part number is SSB000110 , I have looked online and I can seem to find the part available , can anyone guide me in the right direction ?

Thanks
