Starting this thread so all of us new Defender owners can ask silly questions senior members already know...

Ill start by asking:

What tire pressure should I be running on my tires 265/75R16/

Depends on tire and what they are being used for but you may be looking at 30 on the front and mid 30s on the rear on a 90 and a bit more in a 110.
There will be a few different answers on people's preference.

Right now running on tarmac, on a 110 softop

I have those tires sizes. I run, 35 both front and back on tarmac. Take it down to 18 in the soft sand. Seems to give me good mileage and limited wear.

I would recommend 28psi front and 32psi rear on both the 90 and 110.

If you are going off-road then drop it to 16psi all round.

So here is another question

What are the two inputs (Red and Black) on the convoy light switch panel.

When I opened the panel they weren't connected....

Id like to install a intercom system in the car, did the military cars have any internal com system??

nah mate.
But were doing some rally events this year, and lets be honest, she aint the quietest car to give directions in.

Actually, I want to keep the vehicle as much to spec, as possible. Trying to improve on its military heritage.

So I was thinking of installing a internal intercom system and also a CB wired to the original wing mount with antenna. Trying to keep most parts original MOD as possible.

Any suggestions?

something like this for internal comunication.

You need 2 sets with the noise cancelling microphones, I'll try to get a picture / ref if possible.

From memory the speakers in the headsets are not HiFi, they are (were) from telephones Post office 746 (Receiver-inset 4T) things.

Also wanted to hook up a CB and re install the clansman antenna on the car...
Ideally I would love to use an original clansman radio, however Im not sure if this is compatible or a little to "Pro" for just weekend use....

Just to quote the manual from my 110 xs sw

front 28psi and rear 48psi for the 235/85r16 standard fit. The higher rears are to compensate for the extra potential load capacity of a 110, but obviously with a 110 pickup rear running empty that would be a bit bouncy.

My 110 however weighs in att 2200K on my local weighbridge

Seems I have a clutch problem. Clutch has deteriated rather quickly and only takes on all the way at the end of depression...
I had the clutch set and checked about 2 months ago, seems to be a repeating problem where the clutch cylinder piston needs to be set. Ive checked there is fluid and clutch does not slip. Only problem is even when its fully depressed its not allowing me to get into gear...

Any ideas what this could be? Leak in the lines? slipping piston??

help...
