Hi Folks, Just bought a Jan 1994 RR 3.9 with a Landi lpg conversion. Seen lots of post mentioning P38, L..., which engine do I have please. If there is a topic covering this (history in general) , I'd be grateful for a link. Cheers Andy

Welcome!

Sounds like you have a Range Rover Classic, and being a 1994 model it will be what is known as a 'Softdash' and should also have a "Land Rover Classic" badge on the boot (rather than just "Land Rover"). You have the 3.9 V8 engine - they also came with a 300TDi engine at that age, and a 4.2 V8 in the long wheelbase LSE.

The P38 was the model that followed (1994/5-2002/3 I think?) and came with 2.5D, 4.0 V8 and 4.6 V8 engines.

The L322 is the latest model, 2002-onwards I think.

Have you got any pics?

Ta for that, so what's mine?, thinking of what is relevant in terms of posts, a classic?.

Will post some pics tomorrow when its stopped snowing.

Cheers

how much snow you got ??
3.9 is a classic its should be an efi i think.

12mm ish at the moment but it will get worse being on the edge of the Brecons.
Another reason why I'd like to get the RR on the road for the winter.
My old LT has never let me down, but isn't good on the hills.

Lucky git - I want snow so I can feel smug about my new purchase!! ;-)

What needs doing to get it on the road then? And whats an LT?

Don't think you'll have to wait long for snow, few days at most:).
An LT is a Volkswagen Transporter, mines old, a 1979 camper but its never let me down, unlike the RR. Get a few lights on the dash but when you turn the key doesn't even try to turn over. Covered this in another post so don't want to bore anyone.
Hate electrics, gimme welding anyday!!.
