Newbie off roader saying hi

I have just got myself a disco and thought i would join up here. I have been using a little frontera which has done well but i broke it today, front diff blew up!:doh: Now im going to be prepping the disco.

I have already got me a set of 30" tyres i was using on the frontera but my disco wheels are 16", im hoping to find some 15" steels and when the frontera is sold im gonna get a 2" lift kit and pretty much leave it at that for now, unless theres a few essentials i should be doing first?

Lastley im wondering if i got a good deal on the disco? Its a 96 300TDi 5 door, its fairly solid but the boot floor and front of the rear inner arches are gone. Also the lift pump is gone, i have checked it through and thats all it is, wont prime via the arm but still runs, just. Anyway, paid £1250 for it taxed and tested, am i on the money?

Probably, i have been looking but havent found to many for what i want. Its an ES model and has leather which i wanted for keeping clean, its in decent condition condition though and welding/mechanical work isnt an issue as im a mechanic, im looking forward to a new project...

If you bought it and happy with it (for now) then nowt else matters, but keep ya tools handy
