Hi all you guys come highly recommended. I have a 96 N plate 300 tdi auto. It's crap up hill. I seriously think I could run faster and I ain't no sprinter!!!
It seems ok on flat and slight inclines but up anything slightly steep it's frankly ****.. I'm going to do air & fuel filters and the sediment filter on rear chassis but have you guys got any other ideas pls ??? It seems like it won't change or throttle but like I say other than hills it's fine. It doesn't smoke or anything. I know it's heavy etc but it is poor I think. Cheers speak soon

when you service it you might want to look into blanking the egr and decatting the exhaust which will give a little more oomph. Cleaning out the intercooler also helps.

Other things to think about what tyres are you running on? (MTs/ATs/road) and what size? When I used to run mine on 265/75 MTs there was a noticeable difference from my 205/80 road tyres when going uphill.

Is the clutch slipping? Mine was the same and it was the clutch that had gone :( Try sticking it in 5th and see if it stalls!

the OP might have a problem trying that ;)

autos only have 4 speed boxes and you cant lock them in higher gears
