Hi all.

I am looking for thoughts, advice, experiences, and what to stay clear off as I begin the search for a Range Rover.

All previous motors have been just that motors.

Don't do a lot of driving as I commute on the train, so looking for a Range Rover as I have always liked them and will be great for going camping etc.

Don't have vast budget (between 2/4k) and need to know what to look out for when viewing a RR. What models are prone to what faults, what's expensive to fix, and what to walk away from when buying.

A good mate (who is a mechanic) has a defender as an off road project, and will help when I am looking at RR's, however I have never bought a used car never mind a RR so would be good to be directed to good threads that have this info already posted.

Tried to search the site but no joy with the search function..

Thanks in advance guys.

that sort of money is really good classic or p38.Id stick with the classic me self, p38s are more often than not trouble.

if you tried searching for P38 you would have found **** loads of info
buy a decent classic for that cash and spend the rest on running it lol

living with a p38 is like living with a crack whore.
