Hi all,

I have bought myself a 2000 V6i and wonder if any of you are near to my location and could help me out?

i am in Leek, North Staffs and I am new to the Landrover scene.

What I am after is for someone to drive the girl, and have a look at her for me and tell me what could be wrong with her, I am guessing that you all have loads of freelander experiance compared to me.

It does drive ok with loads of power, it pulls to the left and also has vibration at low 20 mph and over 80 mph, seems to be coming from rear diff area??

I have checked tracking, wheel balance, all the skins on her are ok and have changed the wheels around to see if it helped.

I dont want to take it to the landy dealer and have my pants pulled down with loads of made up faults.

I don't expect anyone to come to me I can drive to you.

Any help would be great as I aim to have her running like new, a tall order i know.....

Vibe sounds more like a driveshaft, is it worse under load???

Pulling to left is that all the time, when braking or accelerating???

Congrats to MHM for not diagnosing HGF or suggesting a gallon of unleaded and a box of matches to fix it.:D

Thanks for the reply doobreydog.

When the vibe is present it seems to be no worse when accelorating or breaking, its like a constant deep vibe. I'm hoping somthing need greasing up.

She pulls to the left under all conditions, it's like you have to steer to the right to compensate for it, not huge amounts of right turn though. For example if it's driving steady at a constant speed and you let go of the wheel it will veer to the left, I have tried this on wide open flat carparks to elimante road camber.

I was waiting for the "burn the gayladner" quotes too. ha..

Not sure about the veering but the vibration at high speeds (60+ for me) I had and found to be a broken front diff mount. This had also led to a UJ being knackered and the local main dealer had never changed one before so it took two days for them to get hold of one! Local garage sorted it and now it's fine (is there a fingers crossed smiley?) :)

some of us try and be helpful, whilst still maintaining a realistic reference point. - i.e they are crap.

the HGF and the funeral pyre will all come in due course.:bolt:
