Newbie from Essex

Hi folks, Iam Ross, Iam 27 and a newbie on here from Essex. Between myself and my dad, who is also a member on here (but a bit of a lurker lol) we have a stable of 3 disco's. I own a manual Disco XS 300tdi, and my dad has a manual 200tdi and an auto ES 300tdi. I love working on the landys nice and easy for a bigger car. Both of the 300's have been rebuilt by ourselves, not surpisingly due to H/G problems, but thats how we bought them. My 300 is still a work in progress but to add to my enthusiasm I finally had her fired up this friday 13th of all days for the first time after shedding much blood sweat and tears over the past 4-5 months. Look forward to the banter and advice.

Thanks for the welcome and well wishes bushman. I am finally making some progress with the old girl after many hours of grazed knuckles etc. So far I have had the head skimmed, fitted new thicker h/g and bolts, adjusted valve clearence's, new tempature sender as the old one was a molten blob, new thermostat, new glow plugs, new fan belt, changed timing belt with britpart modified, egr blank off and de cat pipe and had the fuel pump rebuilt. she is sounding preety sweet right now, very smooth, well as smoth as an oiler gets lol. Left to do is new shocks & steering damper, poly bush kit.
I have fitted a set of generel grabber tyres which are 2"'s bigger than the origonals so I am having some rubbing issues on full lock. What would you folks suggest is the best remedy/option. Can I just knock off the lock on the steering rack.
