Hi all,
Just bought my first ever Landrover which is a 2003 1.8GS Freelander station wagon.
Had lots of recent work including updated head gasket, cat back exhaust, clutch and front brake discs and pads. Everything works (at the moment) except that the rear wiper is missing.
I'm fully aware that the 1.8 is a little susceptible to HGF but I had a MG TF with the same engine for a number of years on the original gasket and found that careful warming up from cold helped together with regular checks on the coolant.
Looking forward to a bit of friendly banter on here and hopefully some occasional advice.
So why are they referred to as Hippos?
