Hi,

Thanks for letting me join.... I've just bought an old, 1987, ex military, Defender 90 - soft top so Im looking to get off grid and take lots of photos of wildlife etc. I've also joined Glass to try and make sure I don't go anywhere I'm not supposed to, but, in truth, it looks a minefield out there.

Looking forward to meeting up with some more experienced lany owners locally.

Cheers

I did a trip from Oxford down to the coast last Summer , therea re some great lanes down that way.

Also it is worthwhile getting aquainted with the definitive map and find the local restrictions in place via the local CC website.

Cheers

Hello and welcome too. I am shockingly near you, BH22! LOL
But sadly 3 Discos doesn't = 1 soft top!
Off to Frogland in a few days for a few months but we could pm / "conversation" each other when we get back.
Have a lovely time!

Hi Stan,
Great news. It’ll be good to meet up when you’re back. We were supposed to be over there for June but it didn’t happen!
Have a great time and keep safe. Steve, aka OldCollo

Hope you got your money back, shame you can't make it over this summer. Britney Ferries are running now and I don't think they are fully booked, so who knows? Restaurants and hotels are open and we won't have any trouble on the long drive down, staying in a Campanile and eating a meal in Limoges.
Just sent a message request via Wifey's Facebook, you'll see my name is not Steamer . She has one mutual friend, with you.
Used to teach photography and had a pic published in the online mag Living France, which I was really pleased about, it was of a hummingbird moth, so interested to see your pics of "nenuphars" etc!
All the Best

yes we got a full refund. We had booked to take our caravan down to the Auvergne and had a pitch on the banks of the River Dordogne and would have been driving back to Caen today . We're off to Devon for a couple of weeks now so perhaps we'll try to to get to France after the summer. Hopefully our trip to Uganda in mid August will go ahead, but I'm not that confident.

Anyway enjoy your time in the land of beautiful cheese and reasonably priced red wine and we'll catch up when you get back!
Cheers
Steve
