Hi just thought i'd introduce my self...

My names Aaron Jones, I'm 20 years old, I currently drive a 1994 BMW 525i sport, which is gawjus, I am in the later part of becoming an electrician. I would like to start my own business next year and use a freelander commercial TD4 to do so for a number of reasons:

Its got a BMW derived engine ( I am a BMW nut)
It would be handy for doing farm work, as I live in a rural area
I can get back into offroading which I havent been into since I was about 13
My dad has a freelander TD4 and i'm really impressed with it.

Me and my family arent strangers to landrovers either, my dad had a series 2a I think it was, then we had a RR classic 3.9 vouge, then a p38 BMW RR diesel of course (my Mum is kicking herself for selling this), and now the freelander as my dad does alot of work in and around rural wales and reserviours so a 4x4 is handy. He is a concrete repair specialist/ corrosion engineer.

Any way i'm off to have a wonder round the site and look foward to the future (end of the year probably) when I get my self a freelander

Cheers Aaron (Jonesy)

first one is my 525i and the second you can see my dads freelander;)

Welcome Aaron, nice beemer ( do the indicators work?)
Used to work for BM myself. dont be surprised about getting a slating for the things you say about wantin a gaylander.
Its a bit of a madhouse but if you got a thick skin you'll be fine

landy10, thanks very much. what ya mean bout the indicators?? Did you work for a main dealer??

I know i'd love a 110 with all the off road kit on etc, but the Puff lander is slightly cheaper to run and easier to park. I used to hate them, i'm still not 100% keep on the front espically, but it will suit my needs down to the ground.

I'm not new to forums either so I know you gotta take nearly everything thats said with a pinch of salt;)

screw the gaylander. get yoself a nice 110 commercial early 200tdi could be lucky n get one for 2.5k (ish)

See how the business goes first, what sort of mpg could i expect from the 110, speed wont be essential, espically as it will have my company name all over it.

"easier to park"- please tell me that one of the main reasons that you are not considering a 110 is that they are difficult to park !!!!!

Are you a man or a mouse for heavens sake- if I can park my beast ,with its extended roof additions then any bugger should be able to.........

Go with the 110 anyday- they are brill:)

I've been moving cars on my drive way since i was 9 years old so its not the actual parking, its more if i was to do a job say in the centre of bristol, parking is a right bitch, i used to struggle to find spaces big enough for my 525i.

I'll see if I will be able to drive one before I make my mind up. I would defo prefer the 110, could go for a 90 but I prefer the look of the 110.

parking easy, If it will be there when you come back another matter.
