Hi,
I've just joined and a totally newbie to offroading. Bought a 300tdi Discovery yesterday to turn into a offroader. Looking forward to using this forum to get advice and help.

Hi and welcome :)

Best advice I can give before you go spending wedges of cash on bolt on stuff is to make sure it is as solid as solid thing can be, the tin worm can and will make light work of your body shell

The members vehicles forum is a wealth of knowledge and you should start a build fred for your motor, we likes pictures, lots and lots of pictures :D

Drive it and see where you fall foul, keep an eye out for members in your area in our regional forums for places where people are meeting up and or going out laning or to play and plays.

Hi and welcome!

Good choice of Landy. Unfortunately, rust is its biggest enemy so make sure you treat it as best as you can with rust proofing.

Is your name linked to a local Landy specialist by chance???

Thanks what rust protection would you reccomend? And no it's not.

Have a look at dinitrol and waxoyl. My previous disco 2 was treated with dinitrol from new and the chassis was mint when I sold it when it was ten years old. Waxoyl is also available. Some internet research will provide opinions on both and others with their experience will no doubt be along soon.

There’s a Greyhill 4x4 in north Gloucestershire, hence my query.
