New wrenches

Well I've just taken delivery of a set of new socket wrenches. Like most people I already have numerous, a set of Halfords professional, a set of Clarke ones and a Sykes Pickovant 3/8" one with a bendy head but saw the Facom "Rotator" range and just had to get a set.....

They are brilliant I bought a 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" for £97. They work like normal wrenches with a tiny 6 degree "click" so you don't need much of a gap. They have a socket release button which sits flush in the centre of the head so you can't press it by accident and the direction control is a ring around the head so easy to change even with gloves on but not easy to activate by accident.

BUT the really fancy bit is.... If you can't move the wrench back and forth you can simply rotate the handle both ways and each way will turn the head in the currently selected direction. There are some VERY awkward to get at nuts and bolts on both the Landrover and my Bandit so these are going to be great

1/4" - R.360PB
3/8" - J.360PB
1/2" - S.360PB

Yep they are handy for unwinding bolts out of awkward positions, however I find that you still need to loosen the bolt normally first before you can rotate the grip as it doesn't have that much leverage. I've also got a set of knurled ratchet heads which allow you to grip a socket between your fingers to undo the nut / bolt, very handy

Bought a 3/8 one some while ago after seeing one being used by my local Indy mechanic, the supplier suggested I had tool envy.
