Hello lads and lasses, i currently dont have a landy yet! My dilemma is i work monday to thursday, i travel 344 miles to and from work in that week. I currently run a large nissan van that returns 35mpg this reliable and handy for jobbing on ,fishing camping etc at weekends. But i yearn another landy having previously owned a great 200tdi range rover an old n/a 110 and a few awful freelander 1s . I would like a 110 defender. Do you think it would be frugal enough and reliable enough for work trek. Would a overdrive make it more comfortable on the dual carriageway work run. Would a remap be useful or a higher geared gearbox? .....?
I will appreciate all advice and tdi or td5?..

Well thanks lads I thought I would get some kind of welcome and some advice and help never mind I'll try another site where the welcome maybe more warm

Sorry nobody replied to your thread...

I use my 90 for my daily driver and it's fine... It really depends on your budget! If you post in the 90/110/130 section someone will be able to help you :)

If you can afford something relatively new it will have 6 gears and yes, a remap would make it smoother and slightly better on the mpg

My advice is to abandon your expectations.

Yep! Good advice, no expectations and yu always avoid disappointment!;)

And OP, :welcome2: to lz. I have always gotten by with landies, high road mileage will not damage the vehicle if it is serviced, but it may damage you! :D. Nowadays I have a car too, but often just had landrover for years. ;)
