Wey hey - someone who has a disco that is older than mine! :D Sorry, can't help you with the engine stuff though. Welcome - someone will be able to help here. Have fun. :)

Cameron,

First, what do you mean about the 300 tdi engine being blown?

Who says?

Where are you?

Basically every landrover part cam be made to fit every landrover - eventually.

Fitting the 200 tdi IS possible, and they are good motors, BUT, there are snags, and it would probably be better to continue to use a 300 tdi.

Give us more information .... and a location. If you happen to be near here so much the better.

Yes there shouldnt be a problem it is harder the other way round. as the 300 uses more pipe work;)

But BLOWN ENGINE????

What exactly does BLOWN mean in this case?

I reckon that unless the block and the crankshaft and four conrods and four pistons and the head are all destroyed, it would be easier and cheaper to fix the engine you have.

Now boys, enough of that!
I hear poor (Ha Ha!) wee Paris Hilton is being sent to jail in PARIS for something. She could be popular in there ...

I still think I would like to know what is the nature of the damage he says has written-off the engine. How bad can it be and not be able to be fixed?

CharlesY

dunt actually think he says it can't be fixed. what it do say is that he has another injun and all he wants to know is the fees-ability of fitting said injun
