This will explain why there are no 300Tdi's for sale on the Island anymore.

It looks stunning.

The prototype was at the bicester heritage show, did look good.

The crewcab looks like it is photoshopped to show what it will look like though.

It is hard to express sarcasm using the written word...

I actually like the single cab one. Kinda like a rework of a 101.

Although IMO air would look better with the headlights etc down a bit lower, they look weird up where they are, also could do with a bit more style on the rad grille etc

Yeah, photoshopped, but looks pretty good for a utilitarian vehicle.

I'd be interested in the camper body ...

It'll be interesting to see how much they're going to charge for the conversion kit - If it's within my reach, I'd certainly be interested in one (a camper type) in a year or two's time. Of course that will also depend on what restrictions the government bring in for older diesels...

How does this work re: registration/vin, SVA etc?

Re SVA I did not ask when I saw this at the show. Just looked it over & it planted a seed about a camper

According to their FAQ, there's no mods to the chassis, engine, running gear etc (though presumably the steering linkages will need modifying to move the wheel up), so it keeps it's existing reg under the 8-point rule, and doesn't need an SVA. That, of course, is where having a separate-chassis vehicle helps, as opposed to a modern monocoque.

I'm not sure how you'd stand with insurance though, might be difficult to find someone willing to insure a vehicle with totally new bodywork?

I suppose it would be similar to a kit car/ custom vehicle - specialist insurer maybe?
